There’s so much information when it comes to applying for beauty school. Don’t worry, we don’t expect you to know it all at once! When you try to cover everything all at once, applying for school can feel really overwhelming. However, there are a few pieces of beauty school information that will get you started on the right track.
YOU CAN APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS
Did you know that you can get scholarships, grants and loans for beauty school just like a four year university? If you fill out a FAFSA, you could be eligible for grants and loans through the federal government. Also, several beauty companies and organizations offer scholarships for students interested in cosmetology. The American Association of Cosmetology Grants & Scholarships has lots of amazing scholarships listed on their website. Check them out!
THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY IS GROWING
A lot of parents wonder if this industry will be right for their child. Can you really make a living as a cosmetologist? Of course you can! According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, “employment of barbers, hairdressers, and cosmetologists is projected to grow 10 percent from 2014 to 2024, faster than the average for all occupations. Most job openings will result from the need to replace workers who leave the occupation.” As far as salary goes, cosmetologists have the flexibility to make it what they want. The better you work, the more you earn. It’s as simple as that.
BEAUTY SCHOOL TAKES JUST ABOUT A YEAR
If you want to start your career as soon as possible, Cosmetology is the way to go. In just about a year, you’ll graduate and be on your way towards a creative and rewarding career. If you’re interested in skincare, waxing and makeup, you can earn your Aesthetics degree in just 30 weeks. You’ll have a job you love in no time.
